America's Soul Pierced


 

America’s Soul Pierced

Americans are weeping.

Tears flow like a river.

People are sad.

Democracy is in peril.

 

Where is the truth?

Checks and balances?

Morals and virtues?

Have people lost their minds?

 

But why sit on the fence?

Do something America!

The world is watching.

Our democracy is on trial.

 

It’s a fierce battle.

America’s soul is pierced.

Where will this end?

No one really knows.

 

Let’s bet on freedom.

Hoping democracy wins.

Put to rest the fears.

And breathe new life in America

by letting autocratic tendencies die.
